Method 2. Check the Data Balance on Your Device

The first thing you will want to check is if you have any data balance available on your SIM card. Many times it happens that you use-up all the data balance available on your SIM card and then you cannot access the Internet. Without an active data balance with your provider, you will not be able to access the Internet and as a result, your hotspot will not work either.

One of the best ways to find out details about your data balance is to call your provider's customer center number and let them help you out with the matter.

Method 3. Wipe Data on the Cache Partition

The cache partition on your device is where all the cache, also known as temporary files are stored. As you install more and more apps on your device, this partition gets bigger and bigger. There comes a time when all of these temp files start to interfere with other parts of your device.

If that is the case, the best thing you can do to fix the issue is to wipe off all the data stored on your cache partition. Doing so will resolve the hotspot issue you are currently facing on your device.

  • First, you should press Volume Up and Power button to reboot your device into the recovery mode.

  • Then, choose the wipe cache partition to delete the temporary files as you wish.

Method 4. Reboot Your Device into the Safe Mode

Safe mode is one of the modes on your device that allows you to investigate if any apps installed on your device are causing any issues. It boots-up your system with minimum resources so you can find the culprit and get rid of it from your device.

  • Press the Power button, tap and hold on the power option to reboot your device into the safe mode.

  • Once you are in the safe mode, uninstall the apps you think are suspicious and your hotspot issue will be resolved.

Method 5. Turn Off the Battery Saver

Saving Mode on Your Device Battery saving is one of the features you have on your device that minimizes resource usage and helps you save battery on your device. Many times when this option is enabled on your device, it interferes with the workings of the hotspot feature. Therefore, it is recommended that you turn this feature off when you use the hotspot on your device.

  • Open the Settings app on your device and find the Battery Saver.

  • Tap on Battery Saver on the following screen and click the Turn Off Now button.

It will disable the battery saver mode on your device. You may then start the hotspot feature and see if it works for you.

Method 6. Diagnose Third-Party Apps on Your Device

If you have recently installed any apps that you think could be causing the issue on your device, you may want to get rid of them from your device. There are tons of issue-causing apps out there and you do not want to keep any of them on your device.

  • First, you can head to the Settings on your Android device.

  • Then, fins the Apps and choose the program you would like to get rid of.

  • Click the Uninstall on the screen and then the program will be removed from your device.

Method 7. Update the Android OS Version on Your Device

Running an older version of the Android OS may also cause issues with the hotspot functionality of your device. If you have not updated your device to the latest version of the Android OS yet, you may want to do so right now.

  • Go head to find the Settings and click the About Phone.

  • Tap on the System updates, then and you can update your device to the latest OS version.

Method 8. Reset Your Device to the Factory

Defaults If none of the methods shown above worked for you, factory resetting your device is the option you can try and it will remove all the data including any issues from your device giving you a fresh start.

  • Go head open Settings and find the System.

  • Tap on Reset options and choose to the Erase all data (factory reset).

All the data and settings will be erased on your device and your device will be reset to the factory defaults.
